Where is the Chloé Trevor Music Academy located?
The 2019 Academy will take place at Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, TX. Nacogdoches is 2 hours and a half hours north of Houston and 3 hours east of Dallas.
What if I am flying to the Academy?
Charter buses will be available to pick up students at select airports to bring them to the Academy. Schedules will be included in the information packets that will be sent after payment has been completed.

I am an adult but don't fit into any of the categories listed above. Can I still attend the Academy?
The Academy is in the process of forming an Adult Auditing Program for those who don't meet the criteria for our Academy, Fellowship, and Counselor Programs. The creation of this program will be determined by level of interest. The program would include attendance for all recitals, masterclasses, seminars, and lectures, as well as opportunities to observe rehearsals and private lessons, and possible lessons and group participation. If you are interested in attending the Academy as an Adult Auditor please email us and let us know!
Which program do I apply to if I am a graduating high school senior enrolled in a college music degree program for Fall 2019?
You may apply to either the Academy Program or the Fellowship Program.
Which instruments may apply?
The Academy is open to string players (violin, viola, cello, bass) and pianists for 2019. Winds, brass and percussion divisions are being considered for future years.
Can I attend the Academy for more than one instrument?
Currently students can only apply for and attend the Academy for their primary instrument.
What levels may apply?
The minimum level requirement for string players is Suzuki Book 3. String players should be comfortable with sight-reading and shifting to at least third position to fully participate in daily orchestra rehearsals. Pianists must be able to perform a movement of a Beethoven Sonata (excluding Op. 49), or an equivalent thereof.
Are international students eligible to apply?
Yes, international students may and are encouraged to apply to the Academy for the Academy and Fellowship programs!
- The Academy Program will include ages 12-30.
- The Fellowship Program will chose 16 college students ages 18 to 30 enrolled in a Music Degree program. Music Degree programs include Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Music Education, Master of Music, Minor in Music, Doctor of Musical Arts, Performance Degree, and Artist Diploma.
- The Counselor Program will include musicians ages 24-35.

Will housing and meals be provided?
Room and Board will be available for students for the duration of the Academy for $600.
Do local students need to pay for Room and Board?
Students living in Nacogdoches are encouraged to stay on campus during the Academy, but it is not required. Local students not staying on campus will be given the option to purchase a meal plan.
Will scholarships be available?
Scholarships will be available for Academy Applicants based on financial need. Applicants must apply for scholarship when filling out the online application and not after being admitted.
College students accepted into the Academy's Fellowship Program will be given Full-Tuition scholarships.
Musicians accepted into the Counselor Program will be given a Full-Tuition scholarship and a 50% discount on Room & Board
Pre-formed chamber groups (excluding duos) will be eligible for a discounted tuition rate. All members must apply by March 15th to be eligible for the discount.

CHLOÉ TREVOR MUSIC ACADEMY FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
16 graduating high school seniors and college students enrolled in a music degree program will be chosen to participate in the Academy's Fellowship Program. These students will be chosen from an extensive application process that will take into account performance level, personality, and mentoring capabilities. String Fellowship students will rehearse and perform in a conductor-less chamber ensemble led by Chloé Trevor. Piano Fellowship students will perform on the Fellowship Concert and participate in Sonata-Duo ensembles.
APPLICATION PROCESS
How do I apply?
You apply by filling out the appropriate online application on the Registration Page.
When are applications due?
Applications must be received by 11:59 PM CST on March 15, 2019. Registration deadlines can be found under Registration.
Do I have to audition?
All Applicants will be required to send a recent video (via YouTube or Dropbox link) to determine acceptance. Information on Repertoire and Video requirements can be found on the Academy Program, Fellowship Program, Counselor Program, or Combined Fellowship-Counselor Program pages.
When do I find out if I've been accepted to the Academy?
Acceptance emails will be sent out beginning April 1, 2019.
DURING THE ACADEMY
What classes will be included?
The Academy will feature a string orchestra, masterclasses, private and group lessons, chamber music, recitals, conducting, theory, eurhythmics, sonata-duo classes, collaborative piano classes, piano literature and history, and social media usage for musicians.
Will all students get private lessons?
Tuition includes 2 private lessons with our faculty members. 2 extra private lessons (for a total of 4) may be requested on the online application for an additional $100.
Do students get to have lessons with Chloé Trevor?
Sign up sheets for lessons with Chloé Trevor will be posted in the mornings daily at the Orchestra Library beginning Monday, July 29th. Lessons are first come, first served basis but every effort will be made to accommodate as many students as possible.
Do all students have to play in orchestra?
All string players are required to play in orchestra and the final concert on August 10th.
Do all students have to participate in chamber music?
All students will rehearse with and perform in a trio, quartet, quintet, or large chamber ensemble.
Will all students perform in masterclasses?
Not all students will perform in masterclasses, however the Academy will include as many students as possible.
Will all students perform in recitals?
Not all students will perform in recitals but the Academy will choose as many as possible. Performers will be chosen from audition videos so it is a good idea to send in a video of the piece you wish to perform.
