Sonia Xinyuan Hu, Dalcroze EurhythmicsBorn and raised in Tianjin, China, Sonia Xinyuan Hu graduated with academic honors from the Cleveland Institute of Music. At CIM she received the Jim Hall Alumni Award and completed degrees in Piano Performance and Dalcroze Eurhythmics, studying piano with Olga Radosavljevich and Daniel Shapiro, and Eurhythmics with Brian Sweigart. As a pianist, Ms. Hu has performed internationally and given solo and chamber performances in the Cleveland area. She has been recognized as a skilled educator, having taught ear training at the Walnut Hill School for the Arts during her time there as a student, tutoring Music Theory, Sight-Singing, and Eurhythmics at CIM, and appearing as a clinician at Encore Chamber Music and CIM’s Summer Sonata. Ms. Hu is currently on conservatory and preparatory faculty at the Cleveland Institute of Music and has received a recent appointment as Music Minister at Blessed Trinity Parish in Cleveland, Ohio, where she directs the choir, bell choir, and instrumental ensembles.
